Drowned laryngectomy patients
If a laryngectomy patient is submerged, the lungs fill rapidly through the stoma. It is pointless to first drain the water from the lungs.
Dial 112: the victim needs oxygen as soon as possible.
Place a drowned unconscious person on his/her back and start chest compressions and mouth-to-neck artificial respiration as soon as possible. Again, do not first try to get water out of the lungs.
